For this project, students will study and discuss Renaissance artworks including Leonardo Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Bruneschsci, Donatello and Raphael. They will note that Michaelangelo’s design reflects the culture of the High Renaissance and the artistic tastes of the Vatican, which was the artist’s patron. They will also think about the many cultures that make up today’s world, and topics that are related to the theme of cultures and change that took place during the Renaissance. Their work will teach them to focus on words that relate to the topics. These vocabulary words related to art include: Proportions, Perspective, Intricate, Motif, Facade, Changing Attitude, Realism and Architecture. (See vocabulary list for more choices.)
